A better and cheaper way to treat the waste waters - “Considering that the treatment of waste waters is a major problem in Romania, we decided to get involved in the development of mechanical-chemical methods of treating those waters, confident that this will be the right solution for the issue”, said the General Manager of the company, Mr. Marcu Robu, on the 9th of August 2004, when was the official launching and presentation of the mechanical-chemical unit made by Robinete Industriale SA.
The production of such a unit comes as an answer to one of the most imperative problems some of our food companies deal with, that of water pollution.
This mechanical-chemical unit can be transported and mounted wherever is needed, as it only requires the connection to the residual waters pipeline system and to the power system. This unit can treat waste waters of different origins: from slaughter-houses, fish processing, livestock farms, garbage platforms, textile pre-washing, etc. It assures an advanced treatment of the water, up to 80-90% in an extremely reduced space and with very low expenses. Its capacity is of 30 up to 150 cubic meters in 24 hours, which will lead to 2-7 logarithmic cycle reduction of the microbial charge of the residual waters. The feeding is for 220 V, 50Hz and it has an installed power of 1.4 kW. The technologic flow consists of four stages: waste water gathering, the controlled infusion of coagulant, the reaction and the final decantation and evacuation of the slug. The result of this mechanical-chemical process of treatment is the sterile water and slug (which can be used as fertilizer); the coagulant is a CMS type substance, a lot cheaper than the classical ones, and which is also produced by Robinete Industriale SA.
The treatment unit is an innovation of prof. Vasile Nicolic, the Chief of Environmental Laboratory of the Research Institute, and was entirely manufactured by the professionals of Robinete Industriale company.
The manufacturing of this type of treatment unit started in January this year and finished at the beginning of August. Its price, compared to some other BIO type equipment that combines the biological separation with the chemical treatment with ferrous salts, especially the removing of the phosphorous, is a lot more advantageous. Other types of treatment units can only process domestic waters (CBO5, approx. 300 mg/cubic dm) having a small capacity and being suitable for the use of only one residence or a reduced group of houses.
The specialists have tested Robinete company’s unit in different locations, proving thus its special treatment qualities in very polluted environments.
Until now, there were some companies that enjoyed the treatment unit services at the project level, companies from Romania – Satu Mare, Bucharest, Sibiu, Bacau – and also from Italy.
